The Department of Anthropology pursues an education policy that directs students to gather and evaluate first-hand information about the facts of Turkey since 1960 in which it was established. 

Istanbul University Department of Library and Documentation made 1249 undergraduate theses accessible in January 2021, which were written as a result of the performance-oriented education policy and which can be grouped under the titles of Turkey Villages, Towns, Urban Settlements, Different Professions, Education, Diverse Social Institutions and Other Issues.
