Interviews on Historiography: Prof. Dr. Bekir Kütükoğlu

In the second part of the "Interviews on Historiography”, organized by Istanbul University Faculty of Letters History Research Center, the historiography of the late faculty member of the Department of History Prof. Dr. Bekir Kütükoğlu will be discussed. 

The program to be held within the History Research Center will be made online on 06.03.2021 at 20:00, and will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Arzu Terzi, the Director of the History Research Center. 

The interview will be broadcast live on the Zoom platform and on the Faculty of Letters YouTube channel. The interview will be available for anyone, mainly for the faculty members and students of History Department. Those who wish to join will be able to follow the program live on the YouTube link below. 

Prof. Dr. Arzu Terzi, the Director of the History Research Center, stated that Bekir Kütükoğlu was an Ottoman historian who focused on Ottoman-Iranian relations and Ottoman historiography in his researches. “Many important issues such as the issues to be considered in the publication of historical resources, detection of copy differences in the source publications, and the complementarity of the book sources to archive documents will be discussed through Prof. Kütükoğlu's working method, who was devoted to the publication of Ottoman historical texts. This month our guests are Prof. Dr. Mübahat S. Kütükoğlu, Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak and Prof. Dr. Abdülkadir Özcan, who worked with Prof. Dr. Bekir Kütükoğlu,” she said.
